CS Energy and the National Girls Collaborative Project invite women and girls to participate in a Town Hall on December 16th. The event is focused on hearing the voices of women and girls as they explore exciting careers in cutting edge fields of environmental sustainability, engineering, and renewable energy, that require creativity and imagination. Role model experts from CS Energy will share their stories of nurturing their interest in STEM into rewarding careers. 
 
 
Connecting with NASA: Falcons Flyers after school program selected for STEM Challenge

Over the next few months, students at Williams Elementary-Middle School will be looking beyond the Earth’s sky and up at the stars as they use real mission data and experiences in a unique partnership with NASA. The school is one of 10 locations to be chosen to represent Arizona in the NASA STEM Challenges for the 2020-2021 school year.
 
 
Free K-12 Ornithology Lessons Open Doors for Kids to Explore Nature and Science
 
Engaging children with birds can foster a lifelong interest in nature, science, and conservation. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s new curriculum, eBird Explorers, uses the eBird citizen-science project to teach science and math concepts to elementary, middle, and high school students, while also getting kids outside to explore nature and observe birds.
 
 
Out-of-school STEM During a Pandemic: An Interview with Leaders from FIRST, Learn Fresh, and Girlstart

As the lines blurred between in-school and out-of-school in 2020, it prompted many questions about how organizations that traditionally work with students out-of-school have fared. A recent Afterschool Snack post from Afterschool Alliance interviews the leaders of FIRST, Learn Fresh, and Girlstart – three leading out-of school STEM organizations – to find out how the events of this year have affected their operations, plans, and outlook on the future.
