2022 Grand Canyon Trust internships and River Trip announcement

| March 1, 2022

By the Grand Canyon Trust

The Grand Canyon Trust has several awesome internships for this summer and we’re hosting an intertribal river trip though the Grand Canyon for Native youth from the Grand Canyon’s associated tribes (it’s free!). If you could please share widely with your networks, that’d be awesome! Thanks.

All applications are open now until March 4th, and each internship pays $19/hr, from May 16-Aug 5, 2022. Most are based in Flagstaff, AZ with travel to the Grand Canyon, the Little Colorado River, or Utah’s public lands.

Grand Canyon Program Internship

Contribute to the protection of the Little Colorado River near its confluence with the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon by organizing an overflight and field day for Native youth. Apply here.

Save the Confluence Internship

Advocate for environmental justice by working alongside determined local communities to prevent development of the lower Little Colorado River near its confluence with the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Apply here.

Utah Public Lands Internship

From the mountains to the desert — spend your summer trekking throughout Utah to advocate for a better balance of grazed and livestock-free public lands. Build skills in rigorous monitoring, doing research, engaging in advocacy, and exciting field work. Apply here.

Grand Canyon RIISE (Regional Intertribal Intergenerational Stewardship Expedition)

For youth between the ages of 16 to 20, who are members of one of the associated tribes of the Grand Canyon, and want to go on a free once-in-a-lifetime river trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Join us July 11-19, 2022… apply here. (flyer attached)
