FLAGSTAFF — Hundreds of parents and children streamed into the Commons area of Flagstaff High School for the 8th Flagstaff Early Childhood Fair held on Sept. 29.

The fair, which was traditionally held during the Spring, was moved to the Fall this year to coincide with the annual Flagstaff Festival of Science (Sept. 21 through 30).

More than two-dozen educational booths, musical entertainment and other information greeted parents and children at the high school.

Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead! — Free Family Fun! was the theme for this year’s fair, which included children’s activities, resources for parents and providers, a teacher supply swap, dental screenings and snacks.

The event provided hands-on activities that show how the early years are the best time to promote skills for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans attended the event, which included presentation of the official proclamation.

The fair was sponsored by the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth, with the support of the Flagstaff Festival of Science, First Things First, the Coconino County Public Health Services District, the City of FlagstaffNorth Country HealthCare and the Flagstaff Unified School District.
