Young indigenous filmmakers to showcase their work on April 29

Young indigenous filmmakers will present a free screening of their movies in Flagstaff Wednesday, April 29.

This semester, students in the Filmmaking for Social Change class at Northern Arizona University’s School of Communication collaborated with elementary, middle, and high school students from the Kinlani Bordertown Dormitory, STAR School and the Emerging Filmmaker Program to create place-based films.

They learned about the each-one-teach-one approach and put it in practice while helping local youth engage with community issues using technology and gaining media literacy education.
