Open Enrollment to Buy Health Coverage

| November 16, 2015

Open enrollment to get health insurance has begun, an opportunity for families to purchase a new health plan or update the one they already have. The open enrollment period runs through January 31, 2016, and experts are encouraging families to shop around, as there are new options for health plans and there may be an updated plan available that better meets families’ health needs.

Arizona has some of the most affordable health plans available in the country, and it’s likely most people here will qualify for financial help to pay their monthly premiums. Eight out of 10 Arizonans qualified for financial assistance last year, bringing the average monthly cost in the state to $94.

Free assistance to sign up for coverage is available statewide, and you can make an appointment online with a nearby assister using the Get Covered Connector or by calling (602) 218-3900. Assisters can help at any stage of the application process and help guide you through complex health plans to help you understand your health coverage.
