Interested in volunteering in a research study? Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center at ASU in partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance is looking for volunteers to participate in a interview focusing on child nutrition and social service landscapes in Mohave, Coconino, and Navajo Counties. Here is an overview of the study and what the interview will consist of:

In partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, we are conducting a research study to examine the child nutrition and social service landscapes in Mohave, Coconino, and Navajo Counties. We are doing focus groups, surveys, and interviews to see the current climate for food access for families in flagstaff; what are the barriers/ strengths families have when obtaining food? What resources do they utilize? Attached are the questions for the interview. Flagstaff is the first place that St. Mary’s wants to implement a program to support families, so your input and participation is important in moving forward on the issue of food access with families.

I am inviting your participation in a telephone interview that will take approximately 30 minutes of your time.  You have the right not to answer any question, and to stop the interview at any time.

Your participation in this study is voluntary.  You must be 18 or older to participate. If you choose not to participate or to withdraw from the study at any time, there will be no penalty.

Your responses to this interview will be used to identify additional programs or services that might help increase child and family participation in summer feeding programs in your community.  There are no foreseeable risks or discomforts associated with your participation in this study.

Your responses will be confidential. Notes from your interview will only be shared among the research team. While your name will be listed in our report to the St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance as an interview participant, all interview responses will be summarized and reported in the aggregate.
