POLACCA, Ariz. – Fernando Madrid, the new principal at Hopi Junior High School, wants to keep consistency and continuity to build on all the positive work that the former principal provided last year.

Madrid said he wants to assure that Hopi Junior High School is meeting the educational needs of each student. He said this begins by staff building and establishing relationships with all the students.

He said it’s important to understand what the students enjoy because that helps them to understand why they act the way they act. He said students can have too many distractions so he likes to tell them before every weekend that they need to make good decisions.
