Flagstaff Festival of Science seeking presenters

The Flagstaff Festival of Science — “Exploring New Horizons!” is seeking presenters for its upcoming program Sept. 18 through 27.

Alan Stern, Ph.D., will kick off the 2015 Flagstaff Festival of Science as the Shoemaker Keynote Presenter at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18, in Northern Arizona University’s Ardrey Auditorium.

As the planetary scientist heading up NASA’s New Horizons Mission, Stern will share the latest images and data with Flagstaff, where Pluto was discovered 85 years ago. 

The event will include:

  • Science in the Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19 at Wheeler Park.
  • After School Talks at 4 and 5 p.m., M-F Sept. 21 – 25 at Lowell Observatory.
  • Twilight Talks at 6:30 p.m., M-F Sept. 21 – 25 at the Museum of Northern Arizona.
  • Open Houses and Field Trips scheduled during the weekends

Don’t forget that participating in the Flagstaff Festival of Science is a great way to provide our community some Early Childhood science programming as well as raise awareness regarding the importance of Early Childhood programs!
