Children’s Garden Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

| May 14, 2017
FLAGSTAFF, AZ – The community is invited to attend the JLB Children’s Garden ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony to celebrate the official opening at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Foxglenn Park (4200 E. Butler Ave.)
The JLB founders, Anna and Mike LaBenz, started thinking about creating a public garden in Flagstaff to remember all of the babies and children who have gone before us. More than ten years after the loss of their son, and more than five years working with the Flagstaff City Council and the Flagstaff Parks and Recreation Department, the dream of creating a public, healing space of remembrance and celebration is becoming a reality. Through fundraising efforts of their non-profit organization, the JLB Project, broke ground on the Children’s Garden of Flagstaff in August 2016.
The goal of the Children’s Garden project is to create a beautiful space that is in harmony with the existing natural landscape of Foxglenn Park, providing a joyful space to reflect, remember and celebrate loved ones.
Flagstaff’s Foxglenn Park is 28.3 acre regional park consisting of a playground; one and a half basketball courts; two soccer fields; one youth softball field; three picnic ramadas; permanent restrooms; and one skate track.
