CCC&Y calendar highlights upcoming April, ‘Week of the Young Child’ events

CCC&Y has launched a Community Events for Families calendar with details on upcoming family events throughout Coconino County, including Week of the Young Child, April 16 through 21.

The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families.

The Week of the Young Child Events

April 15 — Music Together to hold benefit concert with Uncle Gerry — with proceeds donated to non-profit NAU Go Baby Go from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at ROUX 66, 2620 N. Steves Blvd., Flagstaff. $10 per family. Buy tickets at www.flagstaffmusic.com

April 16-21 — Siler Head Start to present Open Enrollment — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. all week, 3581 N. Fanning Drive, Flagstaff. Encouraging families to visit and register their 3- to 5-year-olds for the coming school year beginning in August. Call Lynette Bybee at 928-526-1069.

April 17 — Hal Jensen Recreation Center will present “Tasty Tuesday,” a free community cooking class for youth under the age of 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2403 N. Izabel St., Flagstaff. Call 928-213-2760 for more information.

April 17 — The Association for Supportive Child Care will hold a FREE mini-fair for families and caregivers of children birth to 8 years of age from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 17 at 2708 N. Fourth St., Flagstaff, in the courtyard. Vendors are welcome to participate. Community organizations interested in participating are requested to send an email to pstefani@asccaz.org
