CASA’s Needed!

| April 8, 2017

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Coconino County is affiliated with CASA of Arizona and the National CASA Association which is a network of 955 programs that are recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and other settings.

CASAs are desperately needed in Coconino County! CASA volunteers will stay with children who are victims of abuse or neglect until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many of these children, CASA volunteers are the only constant adult presence in their life at the time.

To find out more, please visit the CASA website, which will introduce you to CASA in Arizona. Click on the map and go into Coconino County CASA.  CASA volunteers are everyday citizens judges appoint to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who are victims of parental abuse and neglect. They stand up for these children and change their lives.  This YouTube Video does a great job of introducing the CASA role and need for CASA volunteers.  There are many other great videos if you type in “CASA” YouTube Videos – including an episode on Dr. Phil!

If you would like to make a difference in a child’s life, please look in to being a CASA in Coconino County!
