Campaign for school cash kicks off

The campaign to try to convince voters to back the $3.5 billion school funding plan is now active. Lawmakers, education leaders and campaign directors crowded into the Secretary of State’s office (Nov. 12), filing the appropriate paperwork to place Prop 123 on a May 17 ballot.

The Let’s Vote Yes for Arizona Schools committee is now able to begin seeking contributions and supporters. Campaign chairwoman Sharon Harper declined to say how much the school funding campaign will cost.

“We will raise the money that we need to get the vote,” Harper said.

Organizers plan on gathering support through grassroots efforts, fliers and social media.
