2016 Viola Awards nominees announced for Excellence in Arts, Science Education categories

The Flagstaff Arts Council this week named Mike Levin (Flagstaff Arts & Leadership Academy — FALA), Jessica Soifer (Knoles Elementary), Joe Maniglia (Education Director of Theatrikos), Laura Abrams (Mount Elden Middle School — MEMS) and Joe Cornett (Flagstaff High School) as 2016 Viola Awards nominees in the Excellence in Arts Education category.

The Flagstaff Arts Council also named Rich Krueger (Flagstaff Arts & Leadership Academy —FALA), Sean Ryan (DeMiguel Elementary School), Kaci Heins (Northland Preparatory Academy),  Jillian Worssam (Sinagua Middle School), Chris Luginbuhl (Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition) and Anslem ‘Andy’ Yazzie (Summer Along The Peaks Program at the Museum of Northern Arizona) as 2016 Viola Awards nominees in the Excellence in Science Education category.

The 8th annual Viola Awards Gala will be held on Saturday, March 5 at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff.

The Viola Awards are Flagstaff’s Oscars for the arts. Celebrating excellence in the arts and sciences, the Viola Awards recognize artists, educators, organizations and leaders who make positive contributions to the arts and sciences in Flagstaff.
